No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he possibly could about poker. He routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the detrimental feedback from others kill his ambition of becoming one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

He started competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated a number of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and a continuing passion for poker. Phil states that he is learning every day and is quite humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders in each game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
