No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn whatever he could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He did not allow the adverse feedback from other people destroy his dream of being one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.

He began playing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an eternal passion for the game of poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making mistakes in each session of poker and always strives to improve.

Even though Ivey has won some large tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
