Novice Strategy for Pai Gow Poker

Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old origins. Based on the ancient Chinese domino game and the modern American version of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the far east with the west in an excellent game for beginner level gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the casino, not like almost all other poker games that gamblers compete against other gamblers. By betting against the dealer, starting players do not have to be concerned about other, more knowledgeable people taking their moolla.

An additional Pai Gow benefit is the fairly leisurely game play, beginners will be able to take their time and scheme while not needing to make quick decisions.

It’s also easier to bet on for a long time with just a little amount of cash since, to lose, both of your hands must be under each of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The gambler is assigned seven cards faces showing and the house is dealt 7 cards faces hidden.

A five card hand and one two card hand have to be made from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the dealer’s.
