No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker contender on the planet by many of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn every little thing he could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the adverse feedback from others annihilate his goal of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.
Phil started competing seriously after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his achievements. He admits to making blunders in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a normal basis.
