No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor on the planet by most of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His papa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to learn everything he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the detrimental feedback from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

He started playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning experience and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated a number of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable passion for poker. He states that he is learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
